3CX setup for your property
These SIP credentials are unique to your account. Use them only in your 3CX trunk.
Your SIP trunk credentials
- Registrar / Host
- —
- Authentication ID / Username
- —
- Password
- —
- Port
- 5060 (UDP/TCP)
1. Choose provider type
Important — pick the right option
In Choose your SIP Trunk VoIP Provider, scroll to Generic (Support by Provider) and select Generic VoIP Provider (Registration).
Do not use Twilio or Generic SIP Trunk (IP Based) — TataVoice uses username/password registration.
2. Fill in the Add Trunk form
Map each 3CX field to your TataVoice credentials below.
| 3CX field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | e.g. TataVoice or your property |
| Main Trunk Number |
No DID? Use any label 3CX accepts — e.g. 1000, your mobile
+30…, or ai-reception. This is an internal name for the trunk, not a phone number you must own.
|
| Authentication ID (SIP User ID) | — |
| Authentication password | — |
| Optional 3-way authentication | Leave unchecked |
| Registrar / Server | — |
| Port | 5060 |
| Outbound Proxy | Leave empty |
Click Save. The trunk should show as registered (green) within a minute.
3. No DID yet?
A DID is only needed when you want the public to call a phone number that reaches your AI agent. You can still register the TataVoice trunk and test the agent without one.
Trunk setup: put any value in Main Trunk Number (see table above) — registration does not require a real DID.
Test without a phone line:
- Use a public demo on the TataVoice homepage (mic button) if your agent is marked public by admin.
- Or add a DID later from your telco / 3CX SIP provider and create an inbound rule → this trunk.
When you get a DID, add an inbound rule in 3CX: DID → route to this SIP trunk → TataVoice answers with your greeting.
4. Route inbound calls (when you have a DID)
- Create an inbound rule or DID route that forwards calls to this SIP trunk.
- For testing, create an extension that routes to the trunk after hours or on overflow.
- Calls hitting your trunk username
—are answered by your AI agent.
5. Firewall & NAT
Allow UDP/TCP 5060 and RTP between your 3CX server and
sip.tatavoice.com
(157.90.171.7).
If 3CX is behind NAT, set the correct external IP and enable RTP port range forwarding.
6. Test your line
Place a test call to your DID. You should hear your configured greeting from the dashboard voice settings. Check Recent calls for duration and transcript.
